2.3. The bottom rail

The bottom rail is shaped out of a piece of 150mm x 25mm board, 434mm long.
Measure and mark the cutting line according to the plan drawing below.

Secure the piece to your work surface by way of clamp or other.
Ensure the part to be cut off is overhanging the work surface or is clear of anything that could obstruct the cutting blade.
Unlike the middle rail, this is a square cut so the blade on the jig-saw will be set to straight up and down (normal).

2.4. The arms and corbels

The arms are shaped from a couple of pieces 150x25 @ 746mm long, and the corbels are shaped from a couple of pieces 150x25 @ 200mm long.

Refer to the drawing below to mark the arms and corbels for cutting.
Then cut them out.

Do do this, secure the pieces to your work surface by way of clamp or other.

Ensure the part to be cut off is overhanging the work surface or is clear of anything that could obstruct a cutting blade.

Holding the saw firmly, and ensuring you are on good footing and comfortable, proceed with the cut.

Likewise do the arm corbels.
